Somajiguda: Telangana Civil Supplies Department installed roof-top solar power panels on its premises, said Akun Sabharwal, Commissioner for Civil Supplies Department, at Somajiguda on Sunday. Civil Supplies Department decided to go solar for conserving energy and installed a solar unit with a capacity of 50 kw at a cost of Rs 35 lakh.
Akun inaugurated the setup and said, “In the process of encouraging green energy, roof-top solar power project has been installed at Civil Supplies Bhavan. The solar power will generate about 200 units every day and approximately 6,000 units a month. This would help reduce the electric power consumption and reduce the electric power tariff.”
