Siddipet: Chief Secretary Shailendra Kumar Joshi praised district administration and efforts by the Collector P Venkat Ram Reddy for topping the state in the successful implementation of government’s prestigious Haritha Haram project in the district.

The CS held a review meeting through video conference from Hyderabad with the district Collectors in the state about the state wide plantation fourth phase of the programme for the year 2018-19. The Collector apprised the CS of the project that 54 lakh saplings were planted in the third phase in the state last year out of which 39 lakh were planted only in Siddipet town only.

The Chief Secretary made directions to the Collectors about the implementation of distribution of buffaloes for the dairy farmers in the state by the governments soon. The CS also mentioned that the dairy farmers who have membership in Vijaya Dairy, Mulkanoor Dairy and Karimnagar Dairy are also eligible for the scheme and one buffalo with 75 per cent subsidy for each SC, ST and 50 per cent for BC, OC dairy farmers. The cost of one unit is Rs 80,000 and Rs 5,000 for transportation charges will be provided.

The CS also discussed the Integrated Fisheries Development Scheme (IFDS) in which Self Help Group women will be granted 100 per cent and 75 per cent subsidy for fishermen to afford transporting vehicles, fishing nets, rafts and other fishing equipments. He ordered the Collectors to invite the applications from eligible fishermen and identify 25 per cent beneficiaries out of them by August 15 and before that the distribution of the vehicles for fishermen should be started from July 28.

The arrangements should be done for the distribution of fingerlings to the fishermen after the sufficient rainfall, said the Chief Secretary. The Conference was also attended by Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Department principal secretary Sandeep Kumar Sultania from the state office and Collectors of Siddipet, Sangareddy, Medak, Joint Collectors, DRDOs, DRDA and other officials of fisheries and dairy department from Siddipet and Sangareddy districts.
