Vikarabad: Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Tuesday released fishlings in Nandivagu project waters in Mominpet mandal. He announced to release over 50 lakh seedlings in about 495 tanks in the district.
The minister declared that the TRS government distributes over 86 crore fishlings free of cost among the fishermen. He also referred to how the TRS government has been extending 75 per cent subsidy on fishing nets, crates, vehicles meant for transporting fish and so on. Markets to sell fish are being built at a cost of Rs 10 lakh each.
The government provides investment to the tune of Rs 12000 crore to over 58 lakh farmers. He appealed to one all to make the Kanti Velugu programme, free eye-ailements detection camps, to be held across the state from Wednesday.
MLA Sanjeeva Rao and district fisheries officer Durga Prasad and others were present on the occasion.
