Hyderabad: An alert passenger assisted by a Home Guard and some other passengers caught two fake Train Ticket Examiners (TTE) at Seetaphalmandi Railway Station on Thursday. They were remanded to judicial custody on Friday by the Government Railway Police.
According to railway police, two persons, Mohammad Rafi and Rizwan, of Errakunta in Saroornagar were trying to examine tickets of B Devendar when he was waiting at Seetaphalmandi Railway Station. But, the duo fled the scene when original TTE reached the station by MMTS train. However, Devendar, along with a Home Guard and other passengers caught the fake TTEs.
During interrogation, they confessed that they along with Shiva Prasad, Surya Prakash Reddy and Abid Hussain had collected money from passengers posing as TTEs.
Superintendent of Secunderabad Railway Police M Kanta Rao said that the TTEs were held while collecting money from the passengers. Three other persons who extorted money posing as TTEs would be arrested soon.A He advised the passengers to contact control room on phone numbers 040-27702337, 9440700040 and 9440904873 when found suspicious TTEs.
