Hyderabad: YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who had been on fast in Chanchalguda jail for the past five days, was shifted to the Osmania Hospital around 11.40 pm on Thursday night. He was shifted in a bulletproof vehicle. Clad in red T shirt and black trousers, Jagan got down from the vehicle near outpatient block of the hospital and walked into to a special room arranged for him at the AMC ward.
Jagan had sat on the fast demanding status quo if equal justice could not be done to the two regions in the event of bifurcation. The jail officials forcibly foiled his protest as his condition was fast deteriorating. Doctors said that his sugar levels were down. Keen on administering glucose, they sought permission for it, which was turned down by the jail authorities.
A heavy security was deployed at the hospital. Jagan’ mother Vijayamma, wife Bharati and senior leaders like Sobha and Jupudi Prabhakar Rao had reached the hospital well in advance. A large number of party workers and loyalists also thronged the hospital.
