Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday made a blistering attack on UPA chief Sonia Gandhi for throwing the country into an economic crisis and the failure of the government in all fronts. Addressing a news conference here, he held Sonia Gandhi and her remote control operations squarely responsible for the sheer mismanagement of the finances.

He pointed out that the Prime Minister as well as the whole administrative apparatus had become puppets in the hands of Sonia Gandhi. Attributing the factors that contributed to the record fall in the rupee against the US dollar and the different foreign currencies to the ill-advised policies of the UPA government, de demanded the resignation of the Prime Minister. He felt that the situation was beyond the scope of corrective measures of the corrupt government.

He faulted Manmohan Singh for giving an appointment to Vijayamma and enquiring about Jagan during her meeting with him. He pointed out that the Prime Minister had no time for leaders like him. He denied an appointment to him despite the fact that he wanted to take up with him crucial issues pertaining to the state.

He said the CWC decision to bifurcate the state should have been announced after doing proper homework for addressing the concerns of the people from the two regions. He was concerned more about key issues such as river waters, revenues, jobs and education of the people in the Seemandhra region. Justice should be done to the people of the region, he stressed.

He made it clear that his “Atma gourava yatra”, scheduled to take off on September 1, was not aimed at any political mileage. He said he intended to go to the people to share their concern and fight for them. The bifurcation should not leave the people of any region aggrieved. The division must be made acceptable to every section of people.

The Congress party had successfully created a rift between the Telugu people. Not even a single day was passed in the state without a strike or a protest. The Telangana region was on the boil for long and now it was the turn of the Seemandhra region. It was all orchestrated by the Congress party with an eye on the 2014 elections.
