Hyderabad : Impressed with the energy efficiency activities taken up by state government , the UK government came forward to share the best practices in Energy Efficiency and Energy Conservation (EE and EC) initiatives to achieve goals set by the state.
At a meeting, organised by CII at Godrej Green Business Centre here, the UK Minister for Energy and Climate Change Baroness Sandip Verma assured the State Chief Secretary and Energy Conservation Mission (SECM) Chairperson PK Mohanty that his government will assist in implementing EE and EC by providing technical support and facilitate sharing of best energy efficiency practices.
The UK official also promised to depute a high-level delegation to AP to share the world class Comprehensive Demand Side Management ( CDSM) which have been implemented over two decades.
On behalf of SECM, its CEO A Chandrasekhara Reddy explained the UK delegation about the desires goals including huge energy savings of 15,000 million units per annum in the key sectors like industry, agriculture, domestic segment and government offices and street lights. Reddy also apprised Verma that government has directed Industries department to take up linking incentives to the energy efficient industries.
