Flutter over Renuka

Hyderabad: The presence of AICC spokesperson Renuka Chowdary at the meeting of the Telangana Congress leaders meeting on Sunday led to tense moments as some leaders like R Damodar Reddy and MP Ponnam Prabhakar took strong exception to her presence and demanded that she be sent out.

They said: "Renuka had on many occasions opposed formation of the Telangana state. She should introspect and decide how she could participate in the meeting?" Though Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy tried to pacify them saying that she had now fallen in line and was supporting separate Telangana state, the protests did not subside. At this point of time, some supporters of Renuka barged into the meeting hall and raised slogans in support of her, adding to the chaos and confusion. Soon after that, some OU students entered the room and raised T slogans submitted a memorandum to Jana Reddy, demanding that steps be taken to ensure a bill be introduced in Parliament at the earliest.
