Hyderabad: Supporters of Habeeb Mustafa Idrus Baba, including his son, submitted a representation to the Director General of Police V Dinesh Reddy seeking a ban on Telugu news channel Zee 24 Ghantalu and requested him to take a stern against the channel’s two employees for allegedly airing Idrus Baba as a "land grabber who indulges in black magic".
Baba’s son Habeeb Mohammed said that the DGP assured of necessary action against two employees of the channel, Faheem and Satyanarayana. “We demanded imposition of ban on the channel for showing my father as a land grabber,” he said. Commenting on the arrest of stinger Akhtar and output editor Ravi, he said that he did not want action to be taken against the duo, but said the persons responsible from the channel behind negative projecting of his father to be arrested.
It may be recalled that the channel aired a special story on DGP meeting the Baba at Fateh Darwaza in the Old City on September 13. Both Akhtar and Ravi have been remanded for 14 days judicial custody on Sunday by a Nampally criminal court based on a complaint lodged by family members of the Baba on Saturday.
