‘T neglected after merger’
Hyderabad: Telangana region was totally neglected after it was merged into Andhra Pradesh, lamented, TRS senior leader Naini Narsimha Reddy. He unfurled the Tricolor and party flag at Telangana Bhavan on the eve of Telangana Liberation Day. Party senior leaders Jupally Krishna Rao, B Vinod Kumar and a large number of activists took part.
Addressing the gathering, Naini pointed out that Telangana region prospered under Nizam’s rule. The city also witnessed a lot of development during this period, the TRS leader added. Telangana region got freedom after huge struggle and lots of sacrifices, however it was merged, against the wishes of the public, with Andhra region, former minister Jupally Krishna Rao rued.
BJP holds out official status promise
Hyderabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party chief G Kishan Reddy has announced that his party would bestow official status to Telangana Liberation Day after formation of a separate state. He hoisted National Flag near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel statue in front of Assembly on the occasion of Telangana Liberation Day. Congress party has not yielded to the demand of Telangana community to celebrate September 17 officially only due to the vote bank politics of MIM, he alleged.
TDP pays tributes to martyrs
Hyderabad : TDP on Tuesday observed ‘Telangana Liberation Day‘ and paid rich tributes to those who fought for Hyderabad state’s merger with the Indian Union. Party President N Chandrababu Naidu hoisted the National Flag at party headquarters at NTR Trust Bhavan on this occasion. Later, speaking to newsmen here, party senior leader E Dayakar Rao dared the TRS senior leader and MLA KT Rama Rao to come for a debate on the development of the Telangana. He claimed that the T region has been developed during the TDP regime in the state. He also alleged that instead participating in the liberation day the TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao confined to his ‘ farmhouse’.
