Sanya Lukanovich

How long are you planning to stay here?

I will be in Hyderabad till June next year.

Tell us something about your background.

I am not a trained singer. Whatever I possess, it’s a gift of God. I became a singer at the age of 11. The story goes like: There was a competition going on in my country and I wanted to be famous so I decided to participate in it and fortunately I won. I was all over the TV becoming a celebrity. The journey has been going good since then.

You are good at different genres, how do you do that?

I practice a lot for that and as usual practice makes a man perfect

You started your career singing in hotels and casinos, what was the reason behind it?

After I won the competition there was an agency which helped me a lot and they showed the door for my success, they used to send me to many places also to many countries. It was because of them that had the opportunity to various international casinos.

Tell us something about India and its audience?

Obviously I feel good in India, it’s such a great country. I never expected that Indian people are so warm and welcoming they make me feel very comfortable. Infact, Indian audiences are more friendly compared to the European audiences. They appreciate your talent and give you feedback unlike Europeans where people are always busy and they don’t even bother to appreciate you. They never wait for anyone.
