Hyderabad: The 66th anniversary of Republic Day was celebrated at Metro Rail Bhavan with nationalistic fervour on January 26, 2015.

HMR MD Mr. N.V.S. Reddy unfurled the national flag and addressed the officers, engineers and staff of HMR. He recalled the struggle for Indian Independence and sacrifices made by the great leaders of Indian Freedom Struggle. He further emphasized the importance of Hyderabad Metro Rail in transforming Hyderabad into a Global City and the role it is going to play in the betterment of the citizens, especially women, children and elder citizens of Hyderabad. He explained the importance of rail based mass transit systems to solve the traffic problems in Hyderabad. He also stated that everybody is keenly watching the progress of Hyderabad Metro Rail project, which is the world’s largest mass transit project in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode. He goaded the employees of HMR to display total commitment towards the Hyderabad Metro Rail project which will speak our country’s technological excellence.
“We are building a different metro rail system which nobody in the world is building and Hyderabad Metro Rail is not just a simple metro but an effort to transform Hyderabad into a people friendly green city”, Mr. Reddy said. Mr. Md. Ziauddin, CGM & Chief Engineer, HMR, Mr. Munna Kumar, Chief Engineer Railways, Mr.K Lakshman, Chief Signal & Telecommunications Engineer, other senior engineers and officers of HMR participated in the celebrations.
