It is commonly believed that techies don’t follow much of customs and traditions. But, IT associates of DST India proved otherwise on Sunday. The techies recently celebrated Bonalu festival to educate their colleagues on the tradition and culture in Telangana. The programme started with a presentation on Bonalu followed by the Bonalu theme dance.

It is commonly believed that techies don’t follow much of customs and traditions. But, IT associates of DST India proved otherwise on Sunday. The techies recently celebrated Bonalu festival to educate their colleagues on the tradition and culture in Telangana. The programme started with a presentation on Bonalu followed by the Bonalu theme dance. Over 1,400 associates of the company assembled for their Waarshik Sammelan at the JRC Convention Centre.

The event was conceptualised and executed in just three days by senior techies at the company. 25 plus associates donned various roles. They literally showcased the festival in twenty minutes that even foreigners could understand the custom. The Bonalu Theme Live Festival concluded with Ammavaru, which was played by Mony Priya who gave predictions, which was accompanied by trumpets and drums .

She went into a trance when one of the associates asked her the future of the company and his own future. She replied that she would send him personal predictions by WhatsApp, which saw the jam packed audience burst into peals of laughter. The entire play was witnessed by DST senior management Tilak, Raju and Manjula as well as by two foreign dignitaries.
