With a major portion of north India having seen rainfall and snow storms in the last few days, Hyderabad might be next in line for a brief respite from the summer sun. According to the Met Dept, the Weather Disturbance (WD) that originated in the Mediterranean – Caspian Sea region travelling into the country over Iraq, Iran and Pakistan might just pass over the city.

“In the next two days, the city might see some rainfall. Other parts of Telangana will surely have rainfall,” said YK Reddy, director in-charge, Met Department. On Saturday and Sunday, the city had brief spells of rain and the temperatures had dropped. The same was the case with parts of north India. The temperatures in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand took a toll and the regions were engulfed in rain and snow.

“The mercury levels for the rest of March looks pretty normal and will touch 40 degrees Celsius,” Reddy informed. “If the WD reaches the city, there will be a drop in the day temperatures and the night temperatures will increase,” said K Seetha Ram of the met department. “If the disturbance passes over to the north east the city will have no problem. But if it doesn’t we will face a lot of cold weather,” he added.
