Model house to be ready in a week's time
The GHMC is blowing its trumpets on the housing scheme which is currently in progress at IDH colony in Bhoiguda. The civic body mentioned that it is the only corporation in the country to take up the innovative scheme in an area of 580 square feet for the poor and needy, compared to other states where the housing scheme was taken up at 220 square feet.

Taking note of the Chief Minister’s deadline in October 2014 to complete the work in a span of six months, the construction work is being taken up on a war-footing. Also GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar is monitoring the ongoing works, thereby fixing the responsibility on the engineering wing to ensure that the work is completed within the stipulated time.
All together, there are 33 blocks and a total of 396 flats with basic minimum facilities and each unit costs Rs 7.9 lakh approximately. The GHMC Commissioner said that a model house would be completed in a week’s time which would be placed before the public for their knowledge. A ‘model house’ of the GHMC’s housing scheme will let the occupants decide on how innovative the corporation’s scheme indeed is.
