The fourth edition of Bicyclone, a 10 km long eco-friendly ride, was flagged off by shuttler PV Sindhu on Saturday at the Gachibowli Bike Station. The ride was organised to mark the World Earth Hour Day. About 400 cyclists gathered at the venue at the break of dawn and enthusiastically took part in the event. “I am so happy to be here at this event. I wish more such rides are organised in the city,” noted Sindhu.

The ride was jointly organised by the Hyderabad Bicycling Club (HBC), World Wildlife Fund, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Hyderabad Metro Rail. ”It’s been reported that because of pollution, a man’s life reduces by three years. Cycling is the best alternative to prevent the spread of pollution and to boost one’s health. The awareness is increasing in cities and HBC has been leading to spread the cause in the city. I am happy that youngsters came out early in the morning. I hope people in both the Telugu states take up cycling regularly,” said NVS Reddy, MD, Hyderabad Metro Rail.
