Speaking to media here on Sunday, Osmania Law College Principal Gali Vinod Kumar said that State government must provide support in forming the committee to help the Dalits to get justice. He said that the university management and police officials have failed to investigate the case as the matter has not taken any move since last three months.
“No arrest has been made despite the nationwide agitations by civil societies,” he said.
Talking about the necessity to form a judicial committee at this point of time, Vinod said that the Dalit community is not happy with the investigation done by previous committees. To bring out the reasons for Rohith’s death, a fresh enquiry must be done, he said. He further informed that the civil societies have already approached the High Court in this regard and requested the Court to refer the case to State legal service authority.
The activists also demanded quick intervention of the State government to solve the issue and to restore the academic atmosphere in University of Hyderabad. Representatives from Public Union for Civil Liberties Society and law college students were also present.
