Quetta: Baloch nationalist leader Nawabzada Ghazeen Marri was arrested from the Quetta Airport upon his arrival in Pakistan ending his 17 years of self-exile.

The police officials said that Ghazeen Marri was arrested in relation with Justice Nawaz Marri's murder case, who was killed on January 7, 2000, the local media reported.

Ghazeen Marri had returned to Quetta from the United Arab Emirates through a private airlines, when he was taken into the custody upon his arrival at the airport.

Apparently, he had returned to join the mainstream politics.

In the 1990s, Ghazeen was elected as a Member of the Balochistan Assembly and he was made the Minister for the hyper sensitive Home and Tribal Affairs Department of the Balochistan Government.

Ghazeen Marri is the son of veteran Baloch nationalist leader Kharbakhsh Marri.

Meanwhile, Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti denied of having any deal with U.A.E. on Ghazeen's return.

"The Baloch leader would be presented before a court to get remand," Bugti said.

However, Ghazeen Marri's lawyer has termed the arrest as illegal, since he was granted protective bail.
