Karimnagar: The sixteenth birthday of Madhu Priya, child singer of international repute, was celebrated at a public function at Godavarikhani, her native region, on Tuesday on a grand scale. Jagtial division Addl. Superintendent of Police, P Rama Rajeswari, IPS graced the occasion as the Chief Guest while Virahat Ali, HMTV State News Coordinator presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Rama Rajeswari said Madhu Priya achieved the unique distinction of singing songs with social message and relevance since a tender age and secured a position of niche singer nationally and internationally. “Her parents should be proud that their daughter at a tender age achieved the distinction of singer, a writer and a social agitator.
She called on the women in the state to use every opportunity to excel in their chosen field. Virahat Ali said Madhu Priya instead of singing senseless songs from films, chose to sing her own songs with social relevance. Madhu Priya donated books, clothes and pens to 150 poor students on the occasion of her birth day.
The Chief Guest Rama Rajeswari inaugurated a web site in the name of Madhupriya Foundation. HMTV Regional Coordinator Bandi Ravinder, Karimnagar Bureau Chief Madhukar Reddy, Chief Guest Malla Reddy, Rahman of Jano Sakshi and others participated in the function.
