Karimnagar: Former MLA Katakam Mrutyunjay said the ongoing agitations in Seemandhra districts are artificial and are being planned by some capitalist leaders. Addressing the newsmen here on Friday, the Congress leader stated that Telangana movement had six decades of history while struggle for unified Andhra Pradesh had no basis. People in the Telangana region made several sacrifices and struggled for years for separate State and Seemandhra people should understand the sentiments of Telangana people, he added.
He alleged that the TDP and the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leaders were misleading the people by frequently changing their policies. The two parties, which had expressed their acceptance for State division, took U turns after Congress Working Committee announced its decision to carve out Telangana State. Mr Mrutyunjay opined that Seemandhra leaders should stop demanding for unified State and should start working for resolving issues between the two regions.
