Choutuppal: Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwath said a She Team and a bomb disposal squad would be launched in the Choutuppal ACP office.Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Bhagwath said night patrolling was being taken up to prevent accidents and crimes. He warned that stringent action would be taken if liquor was sold in dhabas.

The Commissioner further added that counselling was being conducted in engineering colleges to prevent ragging. “Although there is no movement of Maoists in the district, suitable advance preventive measures are being taken to check their activities,” he said, adding that strong action would be taken if any followers of the slain gangster, Nayeem, resorted to threats.

Bhagwath announced that the department would recruit 900 home guards. For this purpose, training centres were being started in Choutuppal and Samsthan Narayanpur. Earlier, he undertook a surprise inspection of police stations in Yadadri, Samsthan Narayanpur, Choutuppal and Bhoodan Pochampalli and examined the records.

The Commissioner sought details of incidents of local crime and accidents and made suggestions to the officials in checking them. Among those present at the press meet were Bhuvangiri DSP Mohan Reddy, CI Naveen Kumar and department officials.
