Hospital staff negligence leaves 2 babies dead

Two newborn babies died in a gap of 10 hours due to the alleged negligence of staff of Khammam Government Hospital. According to sources, the hospital authorities refused to admit a pregnant woman citing absence of duty doctor on Saturday.

The woman, who was waiting at a bench, delivered the baby there itself and reportedly died after falling down to the ground. In another incident, another newborn child died at the same hospital. Taking a serious note of the incident, Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao directed the District Collector to take stern action against the doctors and nurses responsible for the incidents.
