Nakrekal: As a precautionary measure, officials lifted a gate of the Musi project in Ketepally mandal up to a level of two feet to release 1300 cusecs of water to downstream in the village on Monday. The present inflows into Musi project was 1800 cusecs.

Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veerasham released the water from River Musi by touching the control board switch to lift the gate. The water level in Musi River rose up to 644.60 feet against the maximum level of 645 feet due to the increased inflows, informed the officials of the Irrigation Department.

The gate would be further lifted by another one feet, if the inflows to the project increases, officials added. The present water levels in the Musi project brought cheers to farmers falling within its territorial area.
