Bhongir: District Collector Anita Ramachandran in a press note released on Wednesday directed the Tahsildars and Revenue staff to create awareness among framers on the announcement of crop holiday. The district administration has announced the crop holiday in Rabi under canal areas to carry out modernisation works of Pillaipally, Dharmareddy and Bunadhigani canals, with an estimated cost of Rs 221 crore.

In another meeting held at Collectorate on the day, the Collector has directed the officials concerned to conduct medical tests in all schools in the district for the welfare of students. She reviewed the status of Rastriya Bala Swasth programme with doctors, pharmacists and ANMs, and expressed concern over the apathy of doctors in conducting tests for children citing lack of facilities. She directed the doctors, pharmacists and ANMs to form two teams in each mandal and make the programme a grand success in the district.
