Khammam: The District President of the ‘Nangara Bheri’-Lambada Hakkula Porata Samiti Bhadru Naik here on Friday called upon people of Adivasis and Lambadas to stand united and alleged that some of the political parties’ leaders for their own benefit, are trying to separate them in the name of reservations by provoking them.
Speaking at the district body meeting held under the leadership of D Veeranna here at the Nangara Bheri office in Khammam on Friday, Bhadru Naik appealed all Adivasis and Lambadas to be cautious by understanding the tricks being played on them in the name of reservations by some of the upper caste political party leaders.
“Lambadas did not hinder the rights of Adivasis and had not grabbed their reservations. Instead of fighting for increasing the reservation percentage in the ST category it is not correct to demand removing Lambadas from ST category,” he expressed his concern.
All the people belonging to Lambada community must be united and must fight to protect their rights along with creating awareness among Adivasis for removing misconceptions they have on Lambadas, he said. Both Adivasis and Lambadas must live united like brothers and should not encourage any third persons who are trying to create disputes among both communities, he appealed.
The people of both communities must fight united demanding the government to increase their reservations in ST Category, he urged. Nangara Bheri leaders Shankar Naik, Venkateshwerlu, Veeru Naik, Naga Raku, Biskhu Naik, Lakhsman and Ramu were present along with others.
