Adivasi bandh evokes cold response
The bandh in Agency areas in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Monday was partial. It had no impact in Kothagudem, Manuguru, Illandu and Bhadrachalam. However, in Bhadrachalam private schools did not function.

On account of the bandh, prohibitory orders have been clamped in Kothagudem, Manuguru, Illandu and Bhadrachalam divisions. The orders will be in force till Wednesday. No rallies were given permission on account of the prohibitory orders.
However, defying the orders, some Adivasi students and employees took out a rally and raised slogans against Lambadas and staged a demonstration in front of the ITDA office at Bhadrachalam.
The rallyists demanded that the Lambadas be removed from the list of Scheduled Tribes. The police maintained the law and order to rule out any untoward incidents from taking place.
