Election code will be in place from Wednesday in Kusumanchi mandal in view of byelections to MPTC seat of Jakkapalli village which is going to be held on January 11, informed Returning Officer G Dhanraj here on Wednesday.

Speaking to media persons here at Mandal Parishad Office in Kusumanchi mandal, Dhanraj said since the MPTC of Jakkapalli Ajmeera Bujji had expired, bypolls are necessitated and would be held on January 11 and counting would be done on January 13. Keeping this in view, the election code is put in place in the Kusumanchi mandal, he added.
Political leaders and the political parties are refrained from conducting any gatherings and meetings without permission, he informed.
Meanwhile, the nominations would be received from aspirants from December 27 to January 2, he informed. Mandal Parishad Development Officer Vidhya Chandana and Tahsildar Krishna were present at the press meet along with others.
