Khammam: The Principal Secretary of Irrigation department, Dr S K Joshi, suggested the District Collectors concerned to submit the details of land procurement done for Irrigation projects here on Tuesday.

Joshi held a video conference on Tuesday with District Collectors from Hyderabad to discuss the ongoing developmental works of land procurement and the amount that was invested till date.

Addressing the officials, Joshi said around Rs 4,000 crore was sanctioned till date across the State for the procurement of lands for irrigation projects. He advised the Collectors to bring to his notice about further requirements of funds, if needed any, for completing the works by the end of financial year i.e., March 2018.

He suggested the Collectors to submit complete details of land procurement and the amount that was invested for it by Wednesday to Commissioner of Rehabilitation besides submitting the details of village-wise survey numbers of the lands that were procured.

He ordered Chief Engineers to submit the details of ongoing works of various irrigation projects in concerned districts. District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar informed Joshi that of the sanctioned Rs.123 crore for the procurement of lands under the SRSP and Bhakta Ramadasu projects, Rs.110 crore was invested till date.

“Under SRSP project, around 940 acres of land is procured and about 123 acres of land under Bhakta Ramadasu project. The procurement of 16 acres of land is left which will be completed as early as possible,” he added. The Collector also informed about the lands that were procured under Jalimudi, Buggawagu and NTR canal micro-irrigation projects.

Sri Ram Sagar Project Executive Engineer Srinivas Rao, Divisional Engineer Srinivasulu, Divisional Engineer of Bhakta Ramadasu project Rama Krishna, Divisional Engineer of Sitarama Project Ramdasu and Deputy Tahsildar of land procurement department Menon were present along with others.
