Komati comes to the rescue of red gram growers

Nalgonda: Local legislator Komatireddy Venkat Reddy visited Nalgonda agricultural market on Thursday and examined the procurement process of red gram from farmers.

The farmers expressed their concern over the shortage of gunny bags in the market and problems they were facing at the centre during the MLA’s interaction with them.

Responding to farmers’ plea, the MLA immediately contacted the superiors over phone and explained farmers problems in detail and demanded them to arrange required 50,000 gunny bags on war foot.

He stayed with the farmers at the market till the bags arrived. Later, the legislator urged the officials to take necessary measures for hassle-free procurement of red gram.

Speaking to media persons, he alleged that officials were creating troubles to farmers in the name of getting certified copy by the respective village revenue official.

Meanwhile, Joint Collector Naryana Reddy along with local Tahsildar Venkat Reddy raided a private godown in Chandur and seized 750 quintals of red gram.
