Depressed over continuous crop loss and increased debts, Chintaakayala Chennappa (38) of Chellapur village under Doulatabad mandal in Vikarabad district committed suicide by hanging from a branch of tree at his agriculture field. 

Mahabubnagar (Vikarabad): Depressed over continuous crop loss and increased debts, Chintaakayala Chennappa (38) of Chellapur village under Doulatabad mandal in Vikarabad district committed suicide by hanging from a branch of tree at his agriculture field.

According to villagers, Chennappa was facing financial problems during the past five years. He had been making a living by sowing paddy in his two acres of land. However, due to lack of good yield, the farmer was not able to get back the investment. Year on year his debts had increased and the farmers was under severe depression due to financial pressure.

It is said that the farmer had come to his field in the morning on the pretext of checking his fields and took extreme step. Later on, when some of the farmers in the surrounding fields noticed it and informed it to their family members and the police. The deceased is survived by a daughter and wife. The Doulatabad police registered a case and investigating is on.
