Mahbubnagar: The Red Cross Society of Mahbubnagar district has called for applications from mentally retarded children in the age group 6-14 for admission into the newly opened Mentally Retarded Children’s Home in Yenugonda village in Mahbubnagar district.

According to Lion Dr A Nataraj, as already there is a mentally retarded school in the district which is fully occupied, the district administration has decided to open another school for the mentally ill children, so that more children who are suffering neural disorders can be treated and rehabilitated.

“The mentally retarded children’s home is exclusively meant for those children who are by birth mentally retarded. This centre will not only help treat their illness but also educate them according to their abilities and capabilities, so that they could be properly rehailiated to lead a respectful life,” said Dr Nataraj.

In view of this, District Collector Ronald Rose, who is also presiding as the president of Indian Red Cross Society, Mahbubnagar has directed the Red Cross Society authorities to seek applications from the mentally retarded children for the newly opened school. Last date for submission of application is March 31.
