Khammam: Assistant Commissioner of Police D Prasanna Kumar here on Monday stressed the need for people’s support to the police to keep a check on anti-social elements and their activities.

Led by Prasanna Kumar, seven teams of police personnel conducted cordon and search operations in the early hours at Indiramma colony in Wyra on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, the ACP said the cordon and search operations are meant for keeping a check on anti-social activities. Such operations are necessary to ensure that the law and order under is maintained.

He advised the people to examine the documents carefully while purchasing second-hand vehicles to avoid pitfalls. He promised to ensure that the identity of informers would be kept confidential.

The police seized 11 two-wheelers and a car as the owners could not show valid documents for them. Circle Inspectors Mallaiah Swamy and Sridhar, Sub-inspectors Naresh, Prasad, Mogili and Suresh participated in the operations.
