Bhadrachalam: The police in the temple town have embarked on providing shelter for the people from heat. The town is already sizzling with heatwave. The day temperature has already reached 42 degree Celsius. Mercury may cross 45 degrees C by next month.

Bikers are forced to wait under hot sun at traffic lights. The police on seeing the people waiting under hot sun at traffic light have decided to provide a shelter for them.

The is the first that the police have taken up the task of helping the people. According to Circle Inspector of Police Satyanarayana Reddy told The Hans India that he had appealed to voluntary organisation to help provide shelter at main centres.

A private degree college, Ram Degree College, came forward, he said. With the support of the college and the police have provided shelters at the main centers.
