​Khammam: Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti (KVPS) district unit general secretary Nandipati Manohar here on Wednesday demanded that the government establish a free coaching centre for the Dalit students to enable them to pursue higher education.

The representatives of the Association along with the leaders of various Dalit organisations submitted a memorandum to Deputy Director of the Scheduled Caste Development Department Sathyanarayana, urging him to take initiative for establishing free coaching centre for Dalit students.

Speaking on the occasion, Manohar said the Dalit students, who intend to pursue higher education, are forced to distant places, he said. Many Dalit students are unable to secure seats in medical and IIT colleges because there is not coaching centres to prepare them.

Responding positively, the Deputy Director assured the association members that he would take the matter to the notice of the government. MRPS State leader Bachhalakura Venkateshwarlu, K V P S leaders R Prakash, TRS-SC cell leader H Prasad and B Rama Rao were present along with others.
