cpiKhammam: State secretary of Communist Party of India (CPI) Narayana demanded the government to immediately release chairman of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) K Kodandaram, who was arrested during Thursday's 'Sadak Bandh' programme. Speaking to the newsmen at CPI district office here on Friday, he stated that the government's move to register non-bailable cases against the TRS and TJAC leaders was an undemocratic act. The Congress government was trying to weaken Telangana movement by arresting the leaders, he alleged. Referring to one of the CPI leaders joining YSR Congress Party, he criticised that YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy was luring leaders from other political parties by offering huge sums of corrupt money. The Kadapa MP was trying to become chief minister by using money power, he added. He termed CBI raids on the houses of DMK leaders MK Stalin and Alagiri in Tamil Nadu unfortunate. The CPI leaders said that the Centre should not use the country's premier investigation agency for its political advantages.
