TD put Telugu glory on world map, says Raavi at Foundation Day fete

Gudivada: The 32nd Foundation Day was celebrated at the local TDP office by party activists on Eluru Road on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, former TDP MLA and constituency in-charge, Raavi Venkateshwara Rao said that the Telugu Desam Party would remain strong despite some opportunist leaders deserting it for selfish reasons. The party derived its strength from lakhs of party activists who were the backbone of the party, he said. Mr Venkateshwara Rao said it was the Telugu Desam leaders like the late N T Rama Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu who put Telugu on the world map and enhanced the Telugu self-respect and pride at the global level. Describing the Telugu Desam rule under NTR and Chandrababu Naidu as golden age in the history of Andhra Pradesh, he said that there was all-round development during that period. He said that the present Congress government was inefficient, unstable and corrupt to the core. There is total political anarchy in the state, he lamented. Expressing confidence that the Telugu Desam Party would storm back to power in 2014 elections, he called upon the rank and file of the party to strive for realising that goal. He said that the Telugu Desam Party alone can work for the betterment of people.

300 join party As many as 300 people joined the Telugu Desam Party in the presence of Raavi Venkateshwara Rao on the occasion. Mr. Venkateshwara Rao called upon the youth to teach a befitting lesson to the Congress leaders in the next elections as they had totally neglected the people's welfare. TDP leaders Dr G Satyanarayana, former ZPTC Katuri John Samuel, A Venkateshwara Rao, G Balaji, Abdul Haaji, N Srinivas Rao and others were present on the occasion.
