Machilipatnam (Krishna): The 48-hour bandh organised by NGOs was total and successful in Krishna district on Saturday. Vehicles were not allowed to ply on the roads. The JAC of teachers started a relay fast camp here. Teachers from Bandaru Urban, Bandaru Rural and Guduru mandals participated in the strike at Koneru Centre.
Mega blood donation camp
Nandigama (Krishna): Members of Muslim community under the auspices of Samaikyandhra JAC organised a mega blood donation camp to support united State here. Students of different colleges donated blood with a demand to revoke State division proposal.
The 48-hour bandh was a success in Nuzivid. Students, traders and employees took part in the bandh. The protesters took out a rally holding torches and walked backwards in protest. Half-naked protests also marked the bandh.
Tractor rally
Bapatla (Guntur): A huge tractor rally was organised with participation of 200 tractors here. Bapatla MLA Gade Venkata Reddy flagged off the rally. Traffic came to a halt on highway No 216.
Rally by electricity staff
Ongole: A massive rally was organised with the participation of electricity employees as part of 72-hour strike in support of Samaikyandhra here. The protesters attired as different Hindu gods said they restricted the strike to limited hours to avoid inconvenience to public.
