The agitators blockaded the Srisailam reservoir bridge on Thursday to mark their protest against the decision to divide the state. The joint action committees of Road Transport Department, the print and electronic media, the employees and the students’ organisations have organised the massive rally at Sunnipenta with about 500 private vehicles. The 8-km long rally has started at Sunnipenta and reached Lingalagattu. The rally blockaded the traffic on the Srisailam reservoir bridge for about two hours.

Srisailam: The agitators blockaded the Srisailam reservoir bridge on Thursday to mark their protest against the decision to divide the state. The joint action committees of Road Transport Department, the print and electronic media, the employees and the students’ organisations have organised the massive rally at Sunnipenta with about 500 private vehicles. The 8-km long rally has started at Sunnipenta and reached Lingalagattu. The rally blockaded the traffic on the Srisailam reservoir bridge for about two hours.
The agitators have taken out an effigy of KCR and burnt it down throwing the ashes into the reservoir. They have also burnt the effigies of Sonia Gandhi, Botcha Satyanarayana and immersed the ashes in the reservoir. The traffic between Srisailam and Hyderabad has come to a standstill for two hours. The agitators demanded the resignations of ministers Erasu Pratap Reddy, TG Venkatesh and their participation in the agitation. They demanded the withdrawal of the decision to divide the state and warned the Congress party that it would pay dearly if the decision was not withdrawn.
Gangula Subhash Reddy, the Nandyala RTO, transporter Sikindar Basha, AP NGOs JAC chairman Dasari Mallikarjun, Electricity employees JAC leader Nageswara Rao, NGO leaders Manohar, Madhu, Koteswara Rao, Chitti Babu, Seshu, Tippi Reddy, employees of polytechnic college, SHG women and others were present.
