Tirupati: The Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samiti president Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy demanded for the new capital in Kurnool, in the case of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the MPs resignations would not affect the center’s decision on the bifurcation issue. He blamed all Seemandhra leaders for not putting their sincere efforts to keep the state united.
He said that all Seemandhra leaders are visiting New Delhi to get approval for a new capital near Mangalagiri; Almost all party leaders including YSRCP, TDP, Congress and TRS owned lands near Mangalgiri by now, he added.
It is evident that he has been demanding for trifurcation of Andhra Pardesh for quite some time. He reiterated that the Rayalaseema people can't live with Andhra people at any cost, in case of the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. "If the bifurcation is inevitable, the same condition of Andhra in 1953-56 with Kurnool as its capital should be reinstated", he added. He reiterated that the Rayalaseema people will not accept any other option than a capital in Kurnool.
