Telangana government’s Rythu Bandhu scheme is all set to be launched tomorrow. The scheme extends support to all the 72.09 lakh farmers in the State with Rs 4000 benefit per acre per farmer each season.

However, not all the farmers can avail the investment cheques and pattadar passbooks scheduled for distribution in the eight-day programme starting May 10.

A rectification exercise is currently in progress as there were a number of errors in the LRUP. To avoid the backlash, the farmers have been given colour slips based on clarity of land data. The pre-printed colour tokens would ensure that only such beneficiaries visit the distribution centre and receive a cheque or passbook.

Under the ‘RGB colour model’, the farmers have been distinguished and distributed the red, green, blue and white tokens.

Farmers with a white token would receive both the incentive cheque and the pattadar passbook. The tokens carry particulars of the beneficiary, including the bank details and the date for encashment of the cheque. The token system has been put in place to ensure better queue management.

Official sources revealed that the data correction is in full swing along with the distribution of category-wise tokens in villages.
