The Board of Intermediate Education is all set to establish two colleges of excellence in Hyderabad and Warangal with residential facility. Based on merit, the admissions will be made to these colleges and the selections will take place after the competition of first year admissions.

Students will be trained on the lines of corporate and private junior colleges for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test, National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance Test and Joint Entrance Examination on a long-term basis besides regular academics.

With the government junior lecturers’ crash coaching to around 25,000 students yielding good results with nearly 40 students likely to get BDS seats and several students getting into engineering colleges in the state, this initiative has been taken up.

Currently, close to two lakh students are pursuing academics in the 404 government junior colleges in Telangana and the implementation of the new scheme will benefit close to 50,000 science students of the government junior colleges.

BIE Secretary, A Ashok revealed that the Board is planning to set up colleges of excellence where meritorious students will be provided coaching for competitive examinations and also the students in the government junior colleges will be given long-term coaching from this academic year.
