Two Maoists have been surrendered themselves before the commissioner of police Ajani Kumar today
Hyderabad: A Maoist couple laid down their arms before the commissioner of police Ajani Kumar today.
Maoist party central committee member Purushottam and his wife Vinodini surrendered. The couple got married in 1982 and were the students of Osmania University. They joined Maoist when they came in contact with Senior Maoists leaders late Mallojula Koteshwar Rao alias Kishanji and KG Satyamurthy.
Purushottam who has been referred to as 'Master Brain' worked with the Maoist leaders like Ganapati, RK and Kishan for almost 25 years.
It is learned that Purushottam (68) and his wife Vinodini (63) surrendered as they were neglected by the Maoist high cadre and health issues were seemed to be another reason.
CP Anjani Kumar said that a cash reward of Rs 13 lakh cash reward was there on the arrest of the couple.
