Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the next government of People's Front, comprising of Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI, would pay Rs. 50,000 towards house rent for a year to all the applicants who registered for double bed room houses which TRS Government failed to provide.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday, Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the TRS Government has cheated the poor people on the promise of providing double bed room houses. He said that the TRS Government had announced that it would provide 2.60 lakh double bed room units to poor beneficiaries. They include one lakh houses in Greater Hyderabad and another 1.60 lakh in rural areas. However, these applicants only faced disappointment under TRS regime. He promised that the People's Front government would pay Rs. 50,000 towards yearly rent to all the slum dwellers of Hyderabad and Rangareddy who had applied for 2BHK scheme. The payment will be made within 15 days after formation of People's Front Government under a new scheme called "Maa Inti Velugu". He also promised that all the construction of all sanctioned houses would be completed within one year.
Further, Uttam Kumar Reddy said all the contract and outsourcing employees would be paid salaries on par with government employees as per the Supreme Court's guidelines on 'Equal Work - Equal Pay'. He said these orders would be issued within three days after formation of next government. Accusing caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao of cheating the government employees, he said that the People's Front government would announced Interim Relief within 15 days and constitute Pay Revision Commission within 30 days of formation of government. He said the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) would be scrapped while restoring old pension system within a month of formation of People's Front Government.
The TPCC Chief informed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP supremo N. Chandrababu Naidu would jointly campaign on 28th and 29th November. There will be public meetings at 12 noon in Khammam and at 4 pm in Tandoor on 28th November and they will also do road shows in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy in the evening. On November 29, Rahul Gandhi and Chandrababu Naidu will do road shows and address public meetings in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also welcomed the statement made by KCR on taking rest if TRS loses elections and said that the TRS president has conceded defeat even before polling. He said KCR has clearly sensed a humiliating defeat and made the announcement with a foresight. He said he had been saying from the beginning that KCR would be confined to his farm house after the elections and KTR would flee to the USA. He said that several top leaders of TRS were feeling suffocated in the party due to the rising arrogance among KCR and KTR and therefore, everyone is preparing to leave it. He said many prominent leaders of TRS would be joining the Congress party in the next two days.
The TPCC Chief said KCR Government did not fulfil a single major electoral promise it made with the people like 12% reservation for Muslims and STs, three acres of land for poor Dalit and Girijan families, double bed room houses or KG to PG free education. He said only four members of KCR family extracted all the benefits of Telangana while four crore people were deprived of their due share in the new State.
