Bengaluru: On Tuesday morning the Namma Metro services had resumed operations normally on the entire Purple Line.
The chief public relations officer B L Yashwanth Chavan at the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), had said that, "Train services between MG Road and Indiranagar stations have been restored today (Tuesday) from 9.35am. With this the purple line will have full service from Byappanahalli to Mysore road and vice-versa".
On the 9th of December, “a minor aberration in girder alignment” which was followed by a honeycomb concreting defect (hollow spaces in precast concrete) had been detected in a viaduct beam above a pier 155 at the Trinity station. BMRCL officials have said that repair work as well as procedures like restoration of track, signaling and testing of systems has been completed.
BMRCL said that all the concrete areas that require attention have been identified and the steel plates are being used to strengthen them as a permanent solution. “Other concrete areas were grouted. The effectiveness of the repair work was verified through nondestructive testing, instrumentation and trials by trains at different speeds,” the official said.
