Hyderabad: Leader of Opposition in Assembly Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka has strongly objected to the fielding of 5th candidate by the TRS in the MLC elections.

Speaking to media persons on Friday, Bhatti said that the TRS was eligible to field only four candidates while the remaining one MLC seat should come to Congress party. However, by fielding a 5th candidate, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was violating the democratic and established norms. He said a forcible elections, which otherwise should have been unanimous, would only lead to horse-trading and defections.

Bhatti said that the Congress party would contest for one MLC seat and the candidate will be declared in a day or two.
