GHMC demolishes unauthorised constructions
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation GHMC on Tuesday took up a special drive for demolition of unauthorized constructions
Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday took up a special drive for demolition of unauthorized constructions.
"It has been observed that most of the buildings were constructed unauthorisedly with extra floors. Constructions were done in the stilt floor parking area which is meant only for parking and it was being utilized for other purposes. All such identified buildings are being demolished in a very systematic manner deploying modernized technology machines. Entire structures are being demolished without giving any scope for constructing the building," the GHMC said in a press release today.
Further, the GHMC said that the demolitions would be a lesson to the people who are unauthorisedly constructions without obtaining the permissions from the corporation.
The Town Planning Officials said that this drive would be continued for some more days. As on today around 21 buildings are under demolition while some of the public representatives resisted the drive.
