Telangana Chief Minister and TRS party leader K Chandra Sekhar Rao asked in his election campaign meeting in Khammam District a few days ago that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minsiter and TDP party leader N.Chandrababu Naidu should withdraw the letters which he had written to Central Government and Central Water Commission against the Seetarama Lift Irrigation Project on Godavari River which serve the ayacut in Khammam District. He even waved those letters from the dais. But, in the today’s Mahakutami Meeting in the Khammam district Naidu did not speak on those letters. But interestingly he voiced slogan ‘Jai Telangana’.

The people of Khammam district are politically very active and knowledgeable. They know the difference between mere rhetoric and real action. If Telangana people and especially Khammam people have to believe him as he really wanted the development of the Telugu people in both the States, he should immediately withdraw letters written against Telangana Projects –He should cooperate at present ongoing Krishna Water Dispute Tribunal proceedings to give Telangana its due equitable share. TDP supremo should make his stand clear on the above issues. Otherwise, Congress party would be the loser and TRS will be the gainer. - Dr A Srinivas Rao, Old Bowenpally
