Krishna District Techie NRI Convicted in U.S. Nerusu Lakshmi Nivasa Rao, a Software engineer, a native of Vuyyuru in Krishna district, who was accused in a triple murder case, was convicted by a United States court. The Oakland Country Circuit Court in Michigan found him guilty of slay of his wife N. Jayalakshmi, son Siva (12) and daughter Tejasvi (14), by slivering their throats at Novi in Michigan.

Hyderabad: Nerusu Lakshmi Nivasa Rao, a Software engineer, a native of Vuyyuru in Krishna district, who was accused in a triple murder case, was convicted by a United States court. The Oakland Country Circuit Court in Michigan found him guilty of slay of his wife N. Jayalakshmi, son Siva (12) and daughter Tejasvi (14), by slivering their throats at Novi in Michigan.

The court adjourned for the sentencing till July 3. Under Michigan law, for first degree murder, Rao will be imprisoned for life with no chance of parole. Rao showed no emotion when he heard the verdict.

The convicted murdered the trio on October 13, 2008. He later fled away to India. With the help of the AP CID, America’s Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested him after four years nabbing on on February 20, 2013.

The convicted was given medically fitness certificate though he pleaded innocent. The prosecution argued that all the victims had severe head and neck wounds and domestic problems had led to the triple murder.
