mguNalgonda: Condemning the bomb blasts in Dilsukhnagar, students of Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) held a 3K-run from Charlapalli bypass road to clock tower in Nalgonda on Tuesday. The run was flagged off by the MGU Vice-Chancellor Prof Katta Narasimha Reddy and professors. Speaking on the occasion, Narasimha Reddy said the run was aimed at awakening people over terrorists' misdeeds and instilling confidence among women who were gripped by panic following Delhi gang-rape incident. He said programmes like marathon would create awareness among youth about impending grave threats to the nation. "Social consciousness on the contemporary issues is pivotal for students so as to prepare them to cope with any eventuality", he said. The vice-chancellor said that such awareness rallies and programmes would be conducted with the students of all colleges affiliated to MGU in a big way across the district. The students raised slogans against the terrorism. The placards displayed by students on illiteracy, terrorism, women, youth and unemployment stood centre of attraction. MGU registrar Pochanna and other teachers participated in the event.
