New Delhi: The Centre is pressing ahead with the creation of Telangana and there is no going back on this process, declared Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy, after calling on President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Thursday. Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy, champion of the interests of Rayalaseema, wondered as to what could be the fate of the region in the eventuality of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He has previously asserted that in the event of division of Andhra Pradesh, it should not be bifurcation, but trifurcation.

In fact, when Union Panchayati Raj and Tribal Affairs Minister V Kishore Chandra Deo favoured trifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy was the first to welcome it. Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy went on to target TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu and the YSRCP leader Sharmila. Describing the TDP and YSRCP as two sides of the same coin, Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy said whatever be the steps taken by Chandrababu Naidu takes, Sharmila would follow suit. He exemplified this by citing Naidu’s padayatra and how Sharmila followed in his footsteps. Likewise, as Naidu had embarked on Bus Yatra, Sharmila followed it up with her own Bus Yatra.

Byreddy Rajashekhar Reddy said both TDP and YSRCP had supported statehood for Telangana, which encouraged the Centre to finally take the plunge on bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
